Hey Kiddos! It's Wednesday so you know what time it is... "Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday"!! We have some great stuff this week so let's get to it. The 1st one is a Batman background with a simple color palette. Basically, it's comic book style graphics ( line art ) in 2 shades of blue, Nice! This was submitted by our friend Galen, who, I think colored it. Either way it's pretty awesome! The next wallpaper is a publicity photo for the BATMAN LIVE World Arena Tour. There hasn't been much news or hype about this UK event lately so I thought this image would be fun!
I know 2012 is a long time away but we just got some news about a very cool set of 2012 Batman 16-Month Wall Calendars that will be available soon. You know these lovely girls: Catwoman, Poison Ivy, & Harley Quinn... MEOW! The cool thing is that both of these Calendars will also come with some FREE Digital Material you can download to your computer ( Basically, it will be an Electronic Calendar Widget for your desktop ). Now, I don't know which one of these I'm going to get yet, maybe both, ha! I mean, both Calendars look pretty cool & it's hard to decide. I can't remember how I came across the ART of Mark Dos Santos website but I'm glad I did! His artwork is pretty cool & as an example look at this parody of an old "Saturday Evening Post" Magazine Cover featuring The Joker & Harley Quinn. It's titled "The Gotham Evening Post", hilarious! We're excited! The Bat-Blog just got some awesome new photos showing the costumes and set design for the UK stage show of BATMAN LIVE WORLD ARENA TOUR!! They were very large pics so I decided to offer them as super-fun BATMAN LIVE WALLPAPERS you can use to brighten your desktop's background. All the photos are pretty much self-explanatory! The 1st one shows the costumes for some of the characters: The Joker, Catwoman, Harley Quinn, Batman, Robin, Riddler, The Penguin, & Poison Ivy. The next wallpaper features just Batman and Robin, but it shows a lot of details to their costume design. Last, but not least, the final photo shows what the "Gotham City" Set Design of the Stage will look like. So, which costume is your favorite?
YES! FINALLY! We finally get some decent press coverage from the BATMAN LIVE World Tour Show that will start in the UK & then arrive later in the US. The amazing artwork you're enjoying right here was totally stolen from an Artist's website that I respect, ha! The Art Site is called MISTERHIPP and basically it's the visual diary of a cool Graphic Artist named Dan Hipp. He does a lot of work with Graphic Novels. His artwork has appeared in DC Comics, Image Comics, Dark Horse Comics, Tokyopop, and Del Rey Books. So, what do you think about his work? Pretty cool, huh!
I always crack-up every time I see Harley Quinn with her giant-mallet hammer, ha! It's Classic! Well, some news from DC Direct shows us this brand-new DC UNIVERSE ONLINE STATUE of HARLEY QUINN based on the comic book art of Jim Lee. Now of course we're talking about the DCU Online Video Game. Here's a room that all Batman Fans would love to live in. These pics were sent in to us by a friend over at Facebook. His name is David & he says that this is the room where he does a lot of artwork. You can see his Drawing Table over in the corner. There are some really cool pieces of Batman stuff laying around ( Toys, Statues, Books, etc... ) but, of course, the main focus of the room are the wall murals. There are 2 major themes here: Heroes and Villains. For the "Heroes Wall" we get Batman, Robin, Batgirl, and Nightwing on a rooftop in Gotham City. It's done in the graphic art style of "The Adventures of Batman and Robin" animated series. Then, we get some Villains: Two-Face, Poison Ivy, Catwoman, The Joker, Harley Quinn, Clayface, & Mr. Freeze. They're all hanging out in front of Arkham Asylum! The artwork here is very well done. Overall the room is extremely excellent! A special thanks goes out to David for sharing his personal space. We totally love this room!
The Javits Center in New York City was bustling this week with some of the coolest and most unusual collectible action figures and statues at the 2011 TOY FAIR. Among them, DC Direct displayed some their newest products. Shown here are the DCU Online MMO figures of THE JOKER and HARLEY QUINN ( These look pretty awesome! ). Plus, speaking of Harley, we also get to see the Harley Quinn Figure from the new BATMAN: ARKHAM CITY Action Figure Series ( Video Game Version ).
Warner Bros. Entertainment and Rocksteady Studios recently release some brand-new screenshot photos from their BATMAN: ARKHAM CITY Video Game for all of us to drool over, ha! A few of these feature a look at THE JOKER'S FUN HOUSE, or Joker & Harley Quinn's hideout. Design-wise everything looks gritty & dirty... cool!
Here are some brand-new images released by Warner Bros Interactive & Rocksteady Games for their new BATMAN: ARKHAM CITY Video Game. Of course we get to see a few Batman Villains here: Hugo Strange & Joker's Girlfriend, Harley Quinn... AWESOME!
OK, This post is kinda weird & sorta cool, all at the same time. Our friend lee was watching TV recently & saw this Harley Quinn Tattoo on a large SUMO Wrestler! The artwork is actually pretty good & it's cool he's a Batman Fan. This was shown on the Spike TV Show, "Manswers".
Here are some pictures that have been heavily circulating around the Internet. They are Concept Art for an idea for a new animated TV Show called GOTHAM HIGH. Basically, it's the entire World of Batman as teenagers. Yes, teenagers, ha! You have Bruce Wayne, Barbara Gordon, The Joker, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, The Penguin, Clayface, Two-Face, Bane, etc... I have to admit the artwork is very good and the character's quirks & personalities are all caught pretty well ( Be sure to click on the 1st image for a large, more detailed, photo ). But, personally, I'm extremely happy that this never got off the ground. Now, some people have said that if it did get green-lit that it would have been fun... because it's such a train wreck. Plus, one friend said he would have liked to have seen the Action Figures made from this show because the character designs are kinda neat. What do you think?
This Bat-Blog post is a request to ask for your vote. Our friend, Elise "Harley Quinn" Archer, is participating in a contest right now at the Top Geek website. She has entered in her other persona known as "Harley Quinn" ( see the above photos ). She's the only person in the contest supporting the Batman character so we really want her to win! Plus, she deserves to win because her acting skills & cosplay costume is really really great! Be sure to check out the video down below for a better idea on this. Then, please CLICK HERE & vote for her today, thank you!
