Here's a random photo I found on the Internet where the main function of the pic was to dramatize the use of car wax! In fact, this photo was taken right after a fresh coat of NXT Tech Wax was applied. Yeah, the photo was about selling Meguiar's Auto Wax products, ha! But for us Batman Fans this pic is all about THE JOKER!! Oh man, this paint job is just completely amazing! Of course the Joker's face looks great, but I really love the "black toxic smoke" effect too.

The Los Angeles County Museum of Art will present Tim Burton, a major retrospective exploring the full range of Tim Burton's creative work, both as a director of live-action and animated films, and as an artist, illustrator, photographer, and writer. I noticed a story the other day over at COMICS ALLIANCE that sort of broke my heart a little bit. It appears that Moose Baumann, an extremely talented comic book colorist, is being plagued with having to deal with his Wife's Cancer Treatment ( We hope she is feeling better soon ). You see, most Comic Book Artists are pretty much "freelance" or self-employed. Many don't have proper Health Insurance. So, to help deal with the bills Moose Baumann is offering "Superhero Art Prints" to help raise money. The prints are 13" x 19" and printed on archival paper. They're some of the many comic book covers ( and inside artwork ) that he has colored. Now, We have only posted a few as examples here but there are more variations on Batman and Robin. There are also some images of Green Lantern, Superman, The Flash, Iron Man, etc... Here's a LINK to check it out!! Oh yeah, the prints are only $20 so while you're there buy 3 or 4, thanks.
Our friend Chris Franchi recently submitted this amazing artwork for a Bat-Blog Exclusive Wallpaper. This dark image of Gotham City's #1 Hero is really great for a background. It combines both drawn artwork & photography. Giving the whole thing a very realistic look. Plus, it's extremely cool! ( Thanks Chris ) For more "Batman Wallpapers" be sure to visit the Bat-Archives located on the left side of this page, near the center, or click the button down below for more recent ones.
I mean "crazy" in a good way, ha! Here is the extremely surrealistic cover art by Chris Burnham for BATMAN AND ROBIN # 26, due in August. The main story involves the Dynamic Duo going to France because lunatics have escaped from Le Jardin Noir, the French equivalent to Gotham City's Arkham Asylum. The story was written by David Hine and illustrated by Greg Tocchini. But check out this wacky-cool cover!! ( Click on it for a larger, more detailed, version ) It looks like something by Rene Magritte or Salvadore Dali!!
Right now at Heritage Auctions in Dallas, Texas ( for the next day & 1/2 ) they're having an auction for an original piece of Batman Comic Book Art by Frank Miller. It's the famous splash page from BATMAN: THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS ( © 1986 ) showing Batman & Carrie Kelley ( The 1st Female "Robin" ) flying through the sky of Gotham City. It's an extremely iconic image & also a major part of Bat-History. Right now the piece is up to $100,000.00! Yes, you read that right, one hundred thousand dollars! Man, being poor totally sucks, ha! For more info, or to bid on this baby, just click HERE!

This is just a quick post to share some extremely beautiful BATMAN artwork I saw on the Internet awhile back. Here are 2 Comic Book Convention Bat-Art Sketches done by Ethan Van Sciver. The 1st one features our favorite Caped Crusader, The Batman and the 2nd one is the Villain, Two-Face... AWESOME!
I can't remember how I came across the ART of Mark Dos Santos website but I'm glad I did! His artwork is pretty cool & as an example look at this parody of an old "Saturday Evening Post" Magazine Cover featuring The Joker & Harley Quinn. It's titled "The Gotham Evening Post", hilarious! To check out more of his amazing graphics just click HERE!

Hey Kids, it's "Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday", on Thursday! Every week we post a few Free BATMAN Desktop Backgrounds & yesterday I was so excited about "Batman: Year One" Animated Movie News that I completely forgot. Yes, I'm a total idiot, ha!
OK, now check this out, the 1st wallpaper shown here is one I made using some recent comic book graphics, it's pretty straight forward. The fun part is that it looks like the Dynamic Duo is rushing right at you! Plus, the artwork is pretty nice.
The 2nd one was submitted by a Bat-Blog Fan who drew this on his computer. One technique he used to make this image extremely AWESOME is that the characters are in sharp focus while the background is slightly blurred, a very cool visual effect! It gives the idea of fast movement and action... very nice! Now, I feel really bad but I lost the email from this person. So, at the moment I'm kind of unable to give the Artist credit & I apologize ( Hey, if you're the guy who drew this then please contact me again. Because of some problems with my server I lost your message, thanks. Oh yeah, this art is really really great!! )
Here at the Bat-Blog we love getting photos from Bat-Fans so it was pretty cool when we got this pic from a Fan named Taylor. Here she is showing off her special Batman Bat-Symbol Logo Tattoo & it's AWESOME! Thanks for sharing pic with us Taylor, your Bat-Tat was very well-done, the lines are sharp & clean, looks great! Hey, if any other Bat-Blog Readers get some ink done then please be sure to send us some pics too!

As a little kid back in the 1970's I became an obsessed comic book collector & one of my very most favorite things in the entire world were "Treasury Comics". They were put out by both DC Comics & Marvel ( I was more of a "DC Guy" ). If you have never seen or experienced these beautiful books then your life is completely sad, ha! Treasury Comics were basically reprints of classic stories but sold in a giant-size format. I mean, these babies were HUGE! It was almost like reading a newspaper, ha! I totally loved them & still have about 15 or 20 of them stored away in the very very back of my closet, in protective plastic bags of course.
Which, gets me to the reason for this post. The other day, while trolling on eBay, I came across a guy selling the Original Comic Book Art for the Cover to the 1975 BATMAN Treasury Comics Limited-Collectors-Edition #C37. The Artist back then was Jim Aparo!! I have always been a HUGE Aparo Fan & totally love his artwork. Now, as you can imagine, this baby is out of my price range, but I would kill to have it, ha! To own an actual piece of your childhood history like that, is what gives Collectors a reason to live. Oh well, I guess I can just drool over the photo posted up above ( Please click on it for a larger, more beautiful, picture ). The later photos show the actual product ( front & back ) and also a few advertisements that showed-up in comic books back in the day. By the way, if your a big fan of treasurys, or just wanna learn more, then please let me suggest TREASURYCOMICS.COM, it's a great reference site!
OK, I'm officially jealous, very JEALOUS! This photo comes from a friend on Facebook who recently got this extremely cool Custom Art BATMAN Coffee Table! His name is John & he just received this Masterpiece of Art from a friend named Dave. John says that Dave made this out of totally recycled parts, basically, materials he found. It's an oval-shaped table with a BATMAN LOGO Bat-Symbol shape carved out of the top's center. It looks like John has installed a focused spotlight up above that casts a shadow on the floor of a BAT under the piece of furniture. Yes, it's also a bat-signal!!! ( Thanks John for sharing this groovy pic, this is a totally GREAT piece. Also, please share with Dave that we think he's a True Artist ).
