Oh man, I am so jealous of this photo & proud of it too. The Bat-Blog has a new friend named Drew who really got to meet his favorite superheroes in person! We're talking about Batman and Robin, The Boy Wonder!! Actually, we're talking about Burt Ward and Adam West!! The Actors from the Classic 1966 BATMAN TV Show were at a Comic Book Convention recently where Drew got to take this wonderful photo. Man, what a great pic! Another cool thing is that it is also signed by both guys... this is a complete treasure! Thank you Drew for sharing this, YOU ROCK Dude!!
Hey, a friend told me about this Bat-Video & I'm wondering how I could have missed it. OMG, it's AWESOME! Basically it's all about the 1966 Batmobile, the real Batman TV & Movie Car! The cool thing is that it's origin story is being told by none other than George Barris, the car's creator! It's pretty cool, check it out!!
An online company named STARGREETZ has hired Adam West to make audio recording for eCards, eInvitations, & Ringtones. Yes, you can now get the Original 1966 TV BATMAN to say your name! The messages are custom-tailored for Birthdays, Get Well Wishes, Graduations, etc... It sounds kinda fun. To check it out, click HERE!
Here's a random video I found the other day of a Musician's Electric Guitar Solo of the theme music to THE BATMAN TV Show ( 2004 - 2008 ). He does a really great job of giving us the intro to the animated cartoon. Check It Out!
This is going to fit into "Weird & Wacky Bat-News" but it's kinda fun so follow me here. A friend of the Bat-Blog, named Travis, was channel surfing the other day & couldn't believe his eyes when he saw a guy on TV dressed as a beaten and bloodied Robin/Jason Todd! But he managed to sneak a screen shot so check out the pic! Yes! That's Jason Todd, AFTER being beaten by The Joker with a Crowbar!! Good eye Travis. Now, for people who want to see the entire episode, it's online for a limited time at the CBS website. This is the show that aired on April 15th, just click HERE! Oh yeah, as a side note, I think the "Hawaiian Girl" is kinda cute, ha!
Here's an interesting video that's a small segment from the EMMY TV LEGENDS series. It's from the Adam West interviews & it's the one where West tell the story of meeting Bob Kane ( Batman Co-Creator )for the first time, it's kinda funny, enjoy!
This is kinda funny! Our good friend, the Bat-Fan, saw this on TV awhile back & sent us a photo. It's a scene from "American Pickers" where Mike spots a BATMAN LOGO Surfboard, ha! If you're not familiar with the series it's a TV Show on the History Channel where two "Antique Guys" named Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz search old barns & homes across America on the hunt for Vintage Collectibles & Old Antiques. Personally, I love the show because this job is sort of what I have done for a living for 20+ years. Well, except I spent more time at Estate Sales & Flea Markets. If you have never seen "American Pickers" then check it out sometime, it's a fun show!
Here's a cool newspaper clipping sent in by our friend BatDave. It appeared last week in The SandPaper, a very popular weekly publication that highlights various South Jersey Beach communities. Basically it's about a Car Show that went on in NJ. Once again, a personally customized-replica 1966 Batman TV Batmobile steals the show, this time at a local scholarship fundraiser in Manahawkin, NJ!! I think the girl that wrote this article did a fantastic job. Very insightful bat-observations and you can tell she really did her research!! Be sure to click on it for a large "readable" version. ( Thanks BatDave )

Eaglemoss Collections, the UK company that brought us the cool "DC Superhero Figurines", is now coming out with a new collection of Batmobiles! These new cars are die-cast, 1:43 Scale, & come inside a presentation case that has a 3D lenticular backdrop. Also, each car comes with a collectible 12-page magazine that gives the history of the vehicle. The 1st car in the BATMAN AUTOMOBILIA Series will be the Batmobile from the 1989 Batman Movie! Then, they're making the 1966 Batmobile from the Classic TV Show!
Here's a list of the five cars in the 1st wave: - 1989 Batman Movie
- 1966 Batman TV Show
- 2005 Batman Begins Movie
- 2009 Comic Book Version
- 1944 Comics Version
They plan on continuing the collection & those cars, in the 2nd wave, will include: 1992 The Animated Series, 1985 Comic Book Version, 1939 Comics, 1995 Comics, & 2008 The Dark Knight Movie Bat-Pod!
Oh man, these sound really great! Plus, the production photos of the 1st five cars so far look really really good, I'm totally excited!! Now the bad news: I gotta say that these cars will take a little trouble to find in the US. You see, they're made in the UK exclusively for the European Market & will only be made available in the USA through special outlets. One rumor I've heard is that they might be distributed through Diamond Distributors, they supply American Comic Book Stores with product. So, you might check one of those. Another source will be a few online stores that do ship in the US. Once I get that list compiled I will be doing another post here so be sure to stay tuned to the Bat-Blog!
Here's a brand new "collectible item" for Bat-Fans who love the old 1966 BATMAN TV Show, Adam West & Burt Ward are on the cover of GLOBE! Yes, this week's GLOBE tabloid newspaper has a cover story about "25 Favorite Celebs: Where Are They Now?". The cool thing is that they actually had something nice to say about them, ha! Plus, they put a small color photo of Batman & Robin on the cover! This is in stores right now so if you want one be sure to act quickly.
Yes! BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD has returned and the 1st new episode, titled “The Battle of the Superheroes!”, will air tonight on Friday, March 25th, on the Cartoon Network! It comes on around 6:30 pm, check your local listings. The Basic Plot: The Man of Steel and the Caped Crusader do battle after Superman is infected with red kryptonite. Batman must find a way to turn Superman back to his old self because he is going to need all the help he can get when Lex Luthor unleashes his latest scheme on Metropolis. Now, the cool thing about this episode is that the Art Direction gives the characters a wonderful "Retro 1950's" look! Plus, it features Superman, Jimmy Olsen, Lois Lane, Lex Luthor, The Bottled City of Kandor, & much more!
Check out this Educational "Batman History" Video created by WATCHMOJO. It covers the evolution of the Batmobile Car in the Comic Books, TV Shows, and Movies.
On March 15th, which is today, Warner Bros is releasing BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD Season One, Part Two on DVD! The cool thing, it's a 2-Disc DVD Set! So please be sure to watch for it soon. Shown up above is the original box art. Then, down below is a BATMAN DVD Wallpaper you can use as a background on your PC. You know, to help remind you about this new volume. Plus, the artwork is really cool. This brand-new BATMAN DVD Set features the show's final 13 Animated Adventures in Season One. In this 2-Disc Collection, the Dark Knight allies with Aquaman, Plastic Man, Blue Beetle, Red Tornado, Green Arrow, Wildcat, Deadman, Bronze Tiger and Atom to take on an array of evildoers ranging from Mad Scientists to Intergalactic Crooks, from Power-Mad Dictators to Out-Of-Control Teenagers! He even travels to a parallel world, becoming the villainous Owlman!
Here's a totally great piece of animation. In fact, it's genius! It's a parody of the opening credits sequence from the 1966 BATMAN TV Show, except all the characters have been replaced with Actors from THE DARK KNIGHT movie: Christian Bale, Gary Oldman, Heath Ledger, Michael Caine, Aaron Eckhart, etc... it even has the Tumbler-Style Batmobile at the end, replacing the 1966 Car!
I had to post this graphic image because it's kinda-sorta Batman related, I'll explain later, but the main reason is that it was created by a friend of mine named Rob Kelly & I'm kind of proud about it (is that wrong?). Well, anyways. This is a PSA (Public Service Announcement) POSTER featuring Yvonne Craig. The basic message is "Visit Your Local Library". Of course we all know and love her as the Actress who played Barbara Gordon in the 1960's BATMAN TV series. On that show her character, besides being Batgirl, was also a Librarian. So that does add a little irony to the concept, ha! Now I totally love Libraries more than anything. I visit them at least 3 or 4 times a month, checking out a large amount of books each time. In fact, a lot of Librarians actually know me by name, ha! So I am completely behind this message, "Visit Your Local Library"! One last thing before I end this post, I want to invite everybody to check out Rob's Illustration ART website. There's some really cool stuff there. Just click HERE!
