Check out these wonderful photos of an amazing assortment of Vintage BATMAN MENKO Cards. These belong to one of our new friends named Yuji. He's been collecting these for awhile & says he has even more than the ones shown here! Yeah, I'm pretty jealous, ha! I have one large uncut sheet of these that were a gift from a good friend named Saul. I also have a few loose ones. But Yuji has almost everybody beat! Oh, before I forget, I wanna thank him for sharing these pics, they're great items.
Now some people might ask, "What is Menko?". MENKO is a Japanese card game played by two or more players. It is also the name of the type of cards used to play this game. Each player uses Menko cards made from thick paper or cardboard, with one or both side printed. A player's card is placed on the hardwood or concrete floor and the other player throws down his card, trying to flip the other player's card with a gust of wind or by striking his card against the other card. If he succeeds, he takes both cards. The player who takes all the cards, or the one with the most cards at the game's end, wins the game.

This is a very quick post to share some extremely cool Batman Collectibles from the UK. These wonderful pics were kindly send in by a good friend named Kevin who is lucky enough to live near there. What are they? These are beautiful display boxes for Batman Easter Candy ( Milk Chocolate Eggs with Fruit-Flavored Gum ). One is in the shape of the Dark Knight's head & his eyes are die-cut open so some happy kid can see the goodies inside. The next one is more of a "box shape" with a great scene of Batman and Robin in Gotham City. Both of these boxes came out during the existence of the "Animated Series" cartoon on TV so that explains the cool graphics. I have a few of these UK items in my collection & they're different ( They would be added here if they were not so deep in storage right now ). So, that makes me wonder how many variations they made. But that's what is so great about being a Batman Toy Collector. There seems to be a TON of stuff out there to find & you can stay busy for 2 lifetimes, ha! ( Thanks Kevin for sending in these photos ).
Look at the photo up above and you'll see why we're excited here at the Bat-Blog! You see that beautiful Batman Statue? Yes, the one where the Dark Knight is shown near a Gargoyle that is probably on the rooftop of some building in Gotham City! Well, we're happy to say that we're giving everybody a chance to win this awesome piece of ART! Yes, you heard that right. You can WIN THIS BABY!
All you have to do is email us your complete name and address with "BAT-BLOG BATMAN STATUE CONTEST" in the title! I guess I should also add that the statue is in ultra-mint condition and will arrive inside it's original box ( not shown here ) & was made by DC Direct. Also, this contest is in no way connected to DC Comics, Warner Bros, DC Direct, or any other of their companies. This is just one Toy Collector sharing the fun of the character with another. But you better hurry because the sweepstakes ends on May 5th, 2011. On that night, at midnight, we will pick a winner that will be announced the very next day ( May 6th ).
Now, we're able to have this contest because of an extremely generous donation by a Bat-Blog Fan known as THE BATFAN! He loves Batman & wanted to share his joy with other Bat-Blog Readers ( Thank You BATFAN ). So, be sure to enter today & please remember to tell all your friends about BAT-BLOG.COM every chance you get!

Here at the Bat-Blog we always love when Bat-Fans send us fun pics to share. Like these, from our friend Ruben, which show his rising Batman Toy Collection. There's some really cool stuff here & I like how it's displayed too. Ruben's main focus seems to be Action Figures or other figural-type items but we can also see some Hot Wheels Cars & other items too. Now, I know a lot of people are gonna ask, "Hey, What's that HUGE Batman Figure in the corner of that 1st pic?" Well, don't go searching in retail stores just yet, ha! That's a Life-Size BATMAN Statue that Ruben made awhile back. In fact, a few months ago we featured it here at the Bat-Blog, for more pics click HERE! One last thing before I complete this post, I wanna thank Ruben for sharing all of these wonderful photos, this is some cool stuff, thanks!

OK, This car is both completely AWESOME & totally CRAZY! Of course, I mean "crazy" in a good way! Oh man, it's so cool!! This is a fully-customized MESSERSCHMITT Automobile made to look like a Batman Car! The custom work & paint job is beautiful. The appraised value of this car is only $75,000 which I think is way too low, it should be more in the 2-3 million range, ha! Please check out all the photos, you'll be drooling for days. Plus, if you would like to see this "Piece of ART" in real-life all ya gotta do is visit the Dezer Collection Museum in North Miami, Florida. For more pics & further info, click

This is kinda funny! Our good friend, the Bat-Fan, saw this on TV awhile back & sent us a photo. It's a scene from "American Pickers" where Mike spots a BATMAN LOGO Surfboard, ha! If you're not familiar with the series it's a TV Show on the History Channel where two "Antique Guys" named Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz search old barns & homes across America on the hunt for Vintage Collectibles & Old Antiques. Personally, I love the show because this job is sort of what I have done for a living for 20+ years. Well, except I spent more time at Estate Sales & Flea Markets. If you have never seen "American Pickers" then check it out sometime, it's a fun show!

OK, I have been meaning to post these photos of this amazing Batman Toy Collection for a very long time, but around the time I got them I was having some major issues with my email programs. So, to make a long story short, I don't have the name of this Toy Collector, I'm sorry. So today I decided to post these wonderful pics anyway. because they do sort of speak for themselves. Shown here is an incredible display of Batman Statues, Action Figures, & other Toys. This Collector lives in the Philippines& did an amazing job displaying all his stuff. I totally love the shelving here, very impressive. The 1st photo shows an over-all shot of the display area. Then, in all the other photos we get to see each individual shelf. I kept those pics pretty BIG so if you click on them you can see way more detail. This is some nice stuff!! I wanna thank the guy who sent these pics & also apologize to him for taking so long to get thee up ( Hey, please contact me, ha! ). Note: I also have some more photos from the same guy but because of space limitations I will present those later... Stay tuned because they're pretty cool too! Also, if any other Batman Fans out there have any fun pics to share then please do!
I just got a message from our friend Stephane who writes the BATMAN CITY Blog. Her website covers the entire world of collecting Batman Trading Cards & it's a really great reference guide site. Well, she wanted to announce that right now she is having a BATMAN ARCHIVES CONTEST. Yes, you can win a set of the "Batman Archives" Trading Cards! As a side note I should say that I have this set in my collection & they're pretty cool. For more info on how to enter just click HERE!
Attention, Please do not "enter the contest" here at my website, it won't count. Be sure to enter at BATMAN CITY. While there, click on the "Enter Comment" link at the bottom of her posting.

Check out these 2 cool photos of an amazing BATMAN Batmobile Toy Car Collection. No, I'm serious, click on them to see 2 HUGE photos that show a lot of detail, ha! What you will see are large close-up shots of many of the cars owned by our friend Cully. His focus is mostly the Batmobiles made by Corgi Toys and Mattel's Hot Wheels. He has the 1966 George Barris Batmobile, the 70's version, the Jokermobile, Catwoman's Car, the Bat-Boat, Bat-Bike, etc... way too many to list, ha! He also has most, if not all, of the variations of the Monster Jam Batmobile "Monster Truck". I wanna thank Cully for sending in these great pics & sorry it took me so long to finally getting them online, ha! But these photos are wonderful & I appreciate it. I also want to invite all other Bat-Blog Fans to share their pics too.
