Hey, a friend told me about this Bat-Video & I'm wondering how I could have missed it. OMG, it's AWESOME! Basically it's all about the 1966 Batmobile, the real Batman TV & Movie Car! The cool thing is that it's origin story is being told by none other than George Barris, the car's creator! It's pretty cool, check it out!!

Last Saturday our friend BatDave went to cover an event for a local Newspaper he works for. It was called "Hot Rods and Harleys"! They have it every year in historic downtown Rahway, NJ. This all-day festival spotlights Bikes, Bands, Babes, Beer, Classic Cars, Food and Family Fun! ( Sounds like a good time to me, ha! ). BatDave took his Girlfriend, BatChick, & another friend. The cool thing was that they didn't know Batman's Car was gonna be there! They turned the corner, when, KA-POW! Sitting right there was one of the coolest 1966 Replica-Batmobiles they have ever seen! The car is owned by Louie and Anna Marie and they really have outdone themselves. The attention to detail is completely insane! Just check out all the photos & be prepared to drool. Needless to say BatDave and his Crew had a wonderful time, ha! ( Thanks to BatDave for sharing his photos and story ).
Hallmark Stores just released some beautiful photos of their next extremely awesome BATMAN-Themed Christmas Ornaments. The one on the left is called "Batman Takes Flight" and is a more Modern-Day Comic Book version. The 2nd one is the 1966 Batmobile Car from the TV Show which plays the "Batman Theme" Music !! Look for these in Hallmark Stores around July.
Here's a Vintage 2004 TV Commercial for the BATMAN C3 Construction Toys. It features the Batmobile Car, Bat-Wing Jet, & Wayne Manor Batcave Play Set! I remember when these came out ( before Lego started doing them ) & they were pretty cool! I bought a few play sets at Toys-R-Us when they hit clearance price. I always liked the design of the packaging. They had great clip art & used the "comic book logo" graphics. Plus, the way they featured the Minimates Figures in the window box, on the edge of the box, was kinda clever.
First off, this image is actually a BATMAN WALLPAPER Background, give it a try! But the real reason for this post is to show this Vintage French Magazine advertisement for the Citroën Dyane, a, economy car from France. It's funny, they're sort of saying that this car is so great that Batman and Robin would choose it for a Batmobile, ha! This automobile is pretty cool & unfortunately you don't see them much in the US ( They were only made from 1967 to 1983 ). For more information just click HERE!
Here's a quick post to share this photo sent in by our good buddy "Batmobilly". The BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD McDonald's Happy Meal Toys came out the other day & I've been so busy the last few days that I have not been able to go see what they look like. Now, when you buy a Kid's Meal there you get 3 small figures or maybe 2 small figures & a vehicle. Here are the ones Batmobilly got: The Penguin, Batman, & the Batmobile!! I think these are pretty cool & I seriously plan on hitting this restaurant tonight. Oh yeah, as a side-note: If you don't want to gag-down their food ( ha ha ) THEY DO SELL the toys separately. Just ask them. In fact, if you can find a cool Restaurant Manager he will build a complete set for you. But personally, I love their Cheeseburgers so I usually get the food, ha ha!
OK, today I'm on sort of a "foreign kick"! That means I'm focusing on some of the extremely cool Batman Merchandise & Toys made in other countries. But trust me, this stuff is pretty cool to see so you'll like it, ha!
The 1st example is an extremely RARE item. This is a packaged Bat-Ball Toy made in Italy in 1966. This Italian Toy is almost non-existent in the US. It's probably even hard to find over there! I love the vintage-style graphics. Plus, this is one of those toys where the packaging is "everything". I mean, once you open it & there's just that generic rubber ball, then it's no longer a "character item".

The next item is fun because it's Japanese & we all know that some of the coolest Bat-items come from Japan! It's a Video Game Disc for the Sega-Saturn by Aklaim. It's also tied-into the BATMAN FOREVER Movie.

Third, is this BATMOBILE Diecast Toy Car from the UK. It's a Hot Wheels Colour Shifters Car made by Mattel.

Now, the last photos, these are really great! I really love these! This is a complete set of 6 BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES Jelly Glasses from France. I think these might have been for the UK market too. If anybody remembers those Welch's Grape Jelly Glasses we have here in the US then I think these are a little smaller. Now, you might be looking at the photo & saying, "Hey, There's 12 Glasses?!" Yes, this photo shows both the front & back of each glass. The 6 on the left are the "front". The "fronts" have Batman & the "backs" have villains. Well, one of them has the Batmobile, ha, but you get the idea.

OK, I'm hoping somebody who reads this either learned something or at least enjoyed it! What do you think? Do YOU have any wacky Batman "foreign items" you would like to share? If so, then please shoot us a pic, or pics! Remember, the main focus of the Bat-Blog is to share the love & joy of collecting.

OK, This car is both completely AWESOME & totally CRAZY! Of course, I mean "crazy" in a good way! Oh man, it's so cool!! This is a fully-customized MESSERSCHMITT Automobile made to look like a Batman Car! The custom work & paint job is beautiful. The appraised value of this car is only $75,000 which I think is way too low, it should be more in the 2-3 million range, ha! Please check out all the photos, you'll be drooling for days. Plus, if you would like to see this "Piece of ART" in real-life all ya gotta do is visit the Dezer Collection Museum in North Miami, Florida. For more pics & further info, click

Here's a cool newspaper clipping sent in by our friend BatDave. It appeared last week in The SandPaper, a very popular weekly publication that highlights various South Jersey Beach communities. Basically it's about a Car Show that went on in NJ. Once again, a personally customized-replica 1966 Batman TV Batmobile steals the show, this time at a local scholarship fundraiser in Manahawkin, NJ!! I think the girl that wrote this article did a fantastic job. Very insightful bat-observations and you can tell she really did her research!! Be sure to click on it for a large "readable" version. ( Thanks BatDave )

Eaglemoss Collections, the UK company that brought us the cool "DC Superhero Figurines", is now coming out with a new collection of Batmobiles! These new cars are die-cast, 1:43 Scale, & come inside a presentation case that has a 3D lenticular backdrop. Also, each car comes with a collectible 12-page magazine that gives the history of the vehicle. The 1st car in the BATMAN AUTOMOBILIA Series will be the Batmobile from the 1989 Batman Movie! Then, they're making the 1966 Batmobile from the Classic TV Show!
Here's a list of the five cars in the 1st wave: - 1989 Batman Movie
- 1966 Batman TV Show
- 2005 Batman Begins Movie
- 2009 Comic Book Version
- 1944 Comics Version
They plan on continuing the collection & those cars, in the 2nd wave, will include: 1992 The Animated Series, 1985 Comic Book Version, 1939 Comics, 1995 Comics, & 2008 The Dark Knight Movie Bat-Pod!
Oh man, these sound really great! Plus, the production photos of the 1st five cars so far look really really good, I'm totally excited!! Now the bad news: I gotta say that these cars will take a little trouble to find in the US. You see, they're made in the UK exclusively for the European Market & will only be made available in the USA through special outlets. One rumor I've heard is that they might be distributed through Diamond Distributors, they supply American Comic Book Stores with product. So, you might check one of those. Another source will be a few online stores that do ship in the US. Once I get that list compiled I will be doing another post here so be sure to stay tuned to the Bat-Blog!
Batman: The Animated Series still ranks as one of my all-time favorite Batman cartoons. I mean, I love the new "Brave and the Bold", but nothing will ever beat the old 90's series. One cool thing about that TV show was the Art Deco Style Batmobile. Well, check out the video down below. Here is a Batman Fan, who I think is an Italian, showing his custom-made Batmobile car. Now it's not totally & completely perfect ( like he made it a "one-seater", not two ), but it is extremely nice. After watching the video click HERE to see some wonderful photos of this car.
Check out this Educational "Batman History" Video created by WATCHMOJO. It covers the evolution of the Batmobile Car in the Comic Books, TV Shows, and Movies.
In this hilarious video by "Barely Political" we get to see Batman as he gets his Batmobile ride pimped by "Improve My Automobile!".
A friend of ours over at Facebook sent us this link to a really great BATMAN Fan Film. Now the thing that's extremely cool about it is that it was done in 1967! Yes, some kids back then must have had an 8mm camera or something & they put this BATMAN movie together! The thing that's so cool is that the "vintage look" of the movie gives it a lot of charm. Plus, they used some old Batman Halloween Masks as props, which are great to see! They also featured a fun 1966 Batmobile toy car that acts as the car in the movie. It's use is really clever... enjoy!
