Well, apparently this is what the DVD cover art for the BATMAN: YEAR ONE - DC Universe Animated Movie is going to look like. It's a great image that I think would make an awesome poster. The projected release date for this film is September 27th, 2011. But that could easily change so please be sure to stay tuned to the Bat-Blog for later info.

Video - BATMAN MOVEMENT Animation Test by 3D Artists

Here's a pretty cool video I came across the other night which shows CGI Modeling and texturing by 3D Artist Carles Gonzalez. Rigging and animated by Miguel Ángel Rubio Recio. The figure looks great but the cool thing is the actual movement of the figure. Batman starts out "walking", then a light sprint, and then some serious running action. All along the way the body seems very natural & the lighting is well done. Carles and Miguel live in Barcelona, Spain.

Video - Batman and Robin in The Janus Factor

Here's an interesting Fan-Made BATMAN CGI Animation Video I found on YouTube from a user named "MarvelZombie2099" and it's his personal homage to Gotham City. He created some really nice Batman and Robin 3-D models and later decided to make an animation starring the Dynamic Duo. His goal was to create a Silver Age Batman story that focused on crime fighting and action without the modern Dark Knight angst. The characters look pretty good & I totally love the Batmobile car! As usual, with Batman, the Villains steal the show!

The New LOONEY TUNES SHOW - Daffy Duck as The Dark Knight!

A friend caught this image off his TV while watching a commercial for the brand-new LOONEY TUNES SHOW. Yes, they're bringing back Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig, Elmer Fudd, Tweety, & all the Gang! Now this is an image of Daffy Duck as Batman... COOL!! The new show is going to air on the Cartoon Network on Tuesday, May 3rd at 8:00pm/7c.

FIRST LOOK at BATMAN YEAR ONE - DC UNIVERSE Animated Film Images

Finally! DC Universe is finally starting to release some images from their next animated film, BATMAN: YEAR ONE. Of course we're talking about the animation-version of the famous Frank Miller & David Mazzucchelli Graphic Novel by the same name. Today, The Hollywood Reporter got some EXCLUSIVE images from the movie. We also get a list of the voice actors: Bryan Cranston ( AMC's Breaking Bad ) is playing Jim Gordon, Ben McKenzie is Bruce Wayne / Batman, Eliza Dushku is Selina Kyle / Catwoman, and Katee Sackhoff is Detective Sarah Essen.

It's a beautiful retro-style image of BATMAN created by Graphic Artist Chris Franchi. Actually, it's the "top half" of a poster he's working on. The image is an homage to the work of 2 major Batman Comic Book Artists from the past, Carmine Infantino and Dick Sprang. I love the use of the benday dots & the very slightly off-register color. It looks like an enlarged photo of a comics page... COOL! The next Wallpaper is a detail shot of an original Animation Cel from the BATMAN BEYOND Animated Series. NEW BATMAN BACKGROUNDS - Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday!

OK, I'm in a very strange mood today so I thought I would post some really weird Batman Wallpaper Backgrounds, ha! The 1st one uses graphics from the BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD TV cartoon. It shows the Dark Knight in an alternative universe ( Remember, I said, "weird" ). The next one shows an image taken from a Vintage 1960's Batman Comic Book from Japan. The way they drew his face so realistically is sort of unusual. But it's a great image & I love the Japanese lettering in the lower-right corner: Bat-Manga!! So, how are these? Anybody like them? GOTHAM HIGH - The Batman Cartoon That Didn't Get Made

Here are some pictures that have been heavily circulating around the Internet. They are Concept Art for an idea for a new animated TV Show called GOTHAM HIGH. Basically, it's the entire World of Batman as teenagers. Yes, teenagers, ha! You have Bruce Wayne, Barbara Gordon, The Joker, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, The Penguin, Clayface, Two-Face, Bane, etc... I have to admit the artwork is very good and the character's quirks & personalities are all caught pretty well ( Be sure to click on the 1st image for a large, more detailed, photo ). But, personally, I'm extremely happy that this never got off the ground. Now, some people have said that if it did get green-lit that it would have been fun... because it's such a train wreck. Plus, one friend said he would have liked to have seen the Action Figures made from this show because the character designs are kinda neat. What do you think?

Check out this amazing animation by Javier Olivares. I love the art style of the graphics & the animation is extremely well done. I'm guessing this was a school project but either way, it's AWESOME! Yes, it's sort of short, but it's still worth watching...check it out!
